For the first deep listening experiment, I took my family to the beach and we did the exercise together. Based on the skills I learnt from the workshop with Ron Harrema and Ximena Alarcon, I explained that we would be listening to the sounds in the environment particularly paying attention to:
- external sounds
- internal sounds (thoughts, breathing, pulse etc.)
- sounds made by the environment (out of your control)
- sounds made by you (in your control, but perhaps subconscious)
We also tried a soundwalk along the whole length of the beach
