Crushing shells from Morecambe bay to be mixed with a binder. For my sketchbook drawings, I used an acrylic medium that contained resin, and for the drawings that I put into the sea, I used an eco-friendly toothpaste to mix with the powdered shells. I think that using a more textured mark-making material is more appropriate to the tactile-nature of creating my drawings as I use my fingers to apply the paint to the page/material that I am working with.

For the paint used later in the sketchbook, I created a finer powder than the more textured sample here
