Locating Positions
This approach was based on the practical exercise form the first lecture on soundmapping. Here I was considering loudness, continuity, noise, human vs. non-human sounds to define elements of sound in a space. This practice was inspired by Alfred Korzybski who says that this way of mapping sounds "is not territory", rather it is an abstraction of an idea of space. This particular process of drawing highlights the experience of a space.
The drawing on right is directly influenced by Alfred Korzybski's idea, and the one on the left is my own development of this by trying to reconstruct the spatial sounds from memory.

Concentrating on behaviour of sounds rather than position and pitch
These following sketches were all produced whilst sitting at the piano, constantly cross-referencing between high quality 'Zoom' recordings and my notes and sketches from the beach.
